ESTIMATOR I – MIAMI, FL
Thunder Electrical Contractors Inc. is currently looking for Electrical Estimators to assist our Estimating team. As an Electrical Estimator I, you will play a crucial role in our commercial, residential, and industrial electrical contracting projects. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze project requirements, create accurate cost estimates, and ensure profitability by meticulously assessing the construction documents and project specifications. This role demands a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and exceptional organizational abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimates: Analyze electrical project requirements, generate precise price estimates, and interpret construction documents to determine materials and labor needs.
- Materials and Labor: Calculate wire lengths, fixture requirements, and labor costs to accurately assess project expenses.
- Customer Service: Engage in various customer service activities to address client inquiries and ensure satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
- General Administration: Follow department SOP (standard operating procedures), maintain project documentation, track progress, and maintain proper filing management standards.
Required Skills:
- Assessment and Analysis: Proficient in quickly analyzing complex data, including blueprints and material costs, to deliver accurate estimates.
- Numerical Skills: Strong mathematical abilities to ensure precise calculations and maintain project profitability.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional focus on detail to accurately identify all project requirements and specifications.
- Organization and Time Management: Effective organizational skills and time management abilities to meet bid deadlines and manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with contractors, architects, and other stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Construction Management, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in electrical estimating or a similar role.
- Proficiency in Accubid, AutoCAD, Revit and/or BIM is highly desired.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and industry standards.
